We are seeking an experienced leader to head our Right to Information and Privacy unit. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic thinker with exceptional judgement skills and a passion for RTI and IP legislation.

Job Description

This role provides leadership and management of RTI applications for the department, the Office of the Premier and the department's portfolio bodies under the Right to Information Act 2009.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the management of RTI applications for the department, the Office of the Premier and the department's portfolio bodies
  • Provide strategic leadership and expert advice on RTI and IP obligations
  • Oversee the department's privacy activities, including privacy complaints under the IP Act and reported breaches of the IP Act
  • Drive the department's ongoing implementation of changes introduced by the Information Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2023
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Exceptional judgement and communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of RTI and IP legislation and relevant case law
  • Able to navigate complex sensitivities and complexities associated with managing RTI applications for a central agency
