About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious fundraising professional to lead our Development Team and drive growth in corporate partnerships, charitable trusts, and foundations, as well as philanthropists and statutory funders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a transformational fundraising strategy to support our Development Strategy and drive unrestricted income for core activities and major gift income for strategically important projects.
  • Lead the Development Team to shape and implement campaigns that support our successful delivery and contribute to our strategic aims.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our communities of supporters to develop deep, unrestricted funding streams and funding for projects that align with our strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate across the organisation to identify and develop fundable projects, using your influence to drive growth and impact.
  • Participate in our leadership team, driving forward our activities and contributing to the External Relations Directorate's busy and sociable working environment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in fundraising, preferably in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of corporate partnerships, charitable trusts, and foundations, as well as philanthropists and statutory funders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
  • Curiosity and passion for our collection, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary of £59,581 to £67,554, plus Civil Service Pension contributions of 28.97% of salary.
  • 35 hours a week with Flexi Time and Hybrid Working options.
