We are seeking an experienced and inspirational senior leader to join our team as Head of Development. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in driving our fundraising strategy and building strong relationships with our communities of supporters.

As a charity, philanthropic income is vital to our activities, supporting high-profile acquisitions, conservation, research, education, and national outreach programmes. Our fundraising team has already achieved significant success, raising tens of millions of pounds over the last 20 years.

We are looking for someone who can spot great ideas, collaborate across the organisation, and use their influence to develop fundable projects. You will be part of a close-knit team with a busy and sociable working environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of fundraising and leadership experience, with a passion for our collection and a curiosity for our mission. If you are a creative and driven individual who is looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a transformational fundraising strategy for Scotland's national collections
  • Build strong relationships with corporate partners, charitable trusts, foundations, philanthropists, and statutory funders
  • Lead the development of campaigns to support our successful delivery
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to drive our fundraising strategy

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £59,581 to £67,554
  • Civil Service Pension contributions of 28.97% of salary
  • 35 hours a week with FlexiTime and Hybrid Working options
