
Strategic Program Leader

The development, implementation and evaluation of Occupational Violence Prevention policies, procedures and protocols is a high priority for the Department of Health. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead this critical area.
- Develop and implement effective OVP policies, procedures and protocols that minimize risks and ensure efficient management and evaluation processes.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive strategic objectives, prepare complex briefings and reports, and ensure timely submissions and correspondence.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members, coordinate reporting processes, and foster a culture of safety and security across the organization.
Role Overview: As Director – Statewide Training and Delivery, you will have a unique opportunity to build a system-wide program that drives cultural change, enhances workforce capability, and improves safety outcomes across every region of Tasmania.
Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of OVP policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as providing leadership and direction to team members and coordinating reporting processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders. A background in occupational health and safety, risk management, or a related field is highly desirable.
