Community Engagement Specialist

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in expanding our network of hosts and fostering meaningful connections within the community. Your key responsibilities include conducting home visits for new hosts, engaging in outreach activities, and referring potential hosts and renters to join our community.

Target locations are Yarmouth, Sydney, and Antigonish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough home visits to prospective hosts to introduce them to our platform, explain its benefits, take photos, and help hosts create their rental listings.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and other relevant stakeholders to promote our mission and services.
  • Identify and attend community events, workshops, and networking opportunities to increase brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Act as a representative of our organization, embodying our values and fostering trust and credibility within the community.
  • Utilize various marketing channels, including social media, email campaigns, and word-of-mouth referrals, to drive host acquisition and engagement.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop strategies for targeted outreach and community engagement initiatives.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including the number of home visits conducted, referrals generated, and new hosts onboarded.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, or community outreach roles, with a track record of achieving targets and driving results.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for making a positive impact in the community.
  • Familiarity with the local community and knowledge of housing-related issues and trends is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, while also being a team player who can collaborate with colleagues across departments.
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle or have access to another form of transportation to visit host homes and perform outreach activities as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Reliable vehicle or access to transportation for home visits and outreach activities.
  • Access to a personal computer with Microsoft Office and a suitable home workspace.
  • Access to a digital camera/ high-quality cell phone camera.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Compensation:

This position offers a competitive commission-based compensation structure, with earnings tied to the number of home visits and successful host and renter referrals that result in rental listings created on our platform. Compensation structure: Earn up to $100 per home visit plus bonus for additional referrals.
