Genomics Research Expert in Future Health Systems

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join our team at UNSW Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in genomics and future health systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out independent and collaborative team research on aspects of clinically relevant genomics and future health systems, while maintaining strong links with researchers in the Faculty of Science.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong linkage to researchers in the Faculty of Science, especially those doing clinically relevant genomics and the bioinformatics thereof.
- Interface with clinicians and NSW Health to streamline genomic technology adoption and highlight clinical needs to the Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics.
- Contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Participate as a co-investigator or chief investigator in competitive grant applications or show evidence of active participation in research collaborations funded by competitive grants.
- Design research projects.
- Mentor and guide students and colleagues, developing the next generation of academics through involvement in supervision of HDRs.
What We Offer
The successful candidate can expect a salary of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus attractive benefits and opportunities for career advancement.
This is a fixed-term appointment for 3 years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funds.
