The Centre for Population Genomics is on the cusp of groundbreaking discoveries, and your expertise will be instrumental in unlocking the potential of large-scale genomic analysis. You will collaborate closely with computational biologists and population geneticists to develop scalable cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless access to complex scientific datasets.

This role offers a unique blend of intellectual freedom, collaboration, and rigorous open-source software development practices. You will work alongside a high-energy software engineering team, iterating with genomic analysis teams to design intuitive interfaces and visualizations. To succeed in this position, you will bring a solid foundation in Python or other prominent languages, with experience in building performant, decoupled, and maintainable code. Database management skills, including query optimization techniques, are also essential. Infrastructure-as-code deployments, particularly in cloud environments like Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS, are a plus.

A competitive salary package awaits successful candidates, up to $134,000 + 11.5% super + salary packaging, depending on experience.
