Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Manager to lead and manage the daily operations of our Equestrian store in Canberra. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the equestrian industry, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in retail management.

As the local expert in saddlery, rider gear, care accessories, horse feed and health, farrier equipment, and stable necessities, you will play a pivotal role in supervising a team of dedicated sales associates, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Leadership: Supervise a team of sales associates, provide coaching and development opportunities, and enhance team performance.
  • Customer Service: Maintain high standards of service, address customer inquiries promptly and professionally, and implement strategies to enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment processes, and merchandising strategies to maximise sales.
  • Sales and Performance: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets, analyse sales data, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain a clean, organised, and visually appealing store environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sales plans to meet business objectives.
  2. Manage staff schedules and rosters to ensure optimal store coverage.
  3. Implement initiatives to improve customer engagement and retention.
  4. Monitor store KPIs and report on sales performance.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven retail management experience, preferably in the equestrian industry.
  • Strong knowledge of equestrian products and equipment.
  • Involvement in the local equestrian community.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
