Mediation Specialist Role Available

About the role

This position involves providing family dispute resolution services to help separating couples resolve issues related to parenting arrangements and property and financial matters.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing mediation services for families with complex needs, including mental health and drug and alcohol issues, or from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Assessing client suitability for provision of family dispute resolution and making decisions regarding suitability
  • Identifying problem-solving options and strategies and providing assistance in clarifying clients' problems and disputes
  • Supporting parents in negotiating sustainable and workable Parenting Plans that reflect the best interests of the children
  • Working collaboratively with legal practitioners to provide best outcomes for clients
  • Maintaining client records and collecting data as required to comply with service standards and program accountability

About you

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law or social sciences and Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution or equivalent
  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and registered with the Federal Attorney-General's Department
  • NMAS/AMDRAS accreditation highly desirable
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in use of a range of technology platforms to ensure the smooth delivery of online services
