We are seeking an experienced Development and Capability Manager to join our team at Michael Hill, a leading premium jewellery group. This is a hybrid role that combines strategic leadership with operational expertise, driving the transformation agenda across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a capability strategy to deliver an engaged, informed, productive, and capable workforce.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of scalable structures and content for onboarding, training, and promoting the growth of all team members.
  • Manage, improve, and extend current training programs through blended learning approaches.
  • Partner with the business to assess capability and develop customised learning programs to ensure succession planning and talent management activities are well supported.
  • Deliver improvements to performance, talent management, and leadership development processes and outcomes.
  • Ensure the creation of online training content is executed to a high standard and content is managed through the relevant LMS.
  • Communicate the importance of productively completing online training and develop and execute strategies to ensure the transfer of learning in the workplace.
  • Develop and deliver talent and succession policies and processes to ensure the attraction, engagement, and retention of talent for MH Group.
  • Ensure Learning and HR Business Partners work in unison to deliver strong, measurable talent outcomes and partner with Talent Acquisition Manager on internal mobility opportunities.
  • Deliver, in partnership with key leaders, succession plans for critical roles and ensure the identification of high potential team members.
  • Develop and deliver a program to measure, report, and improve/maintain team member engagement.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resources, Transformation, Capability, or Organisational Development.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a diverse and geographically dispersed team.
  • Significant experience in Capability, Transformation, and Culture.
  • Experience successfully implementing business changes and People and Culture initiatives.
  • Development and implementation of People strategies, processes, and initiatives to improve business results and to transform the workforce.
