Real Estate Leader Job Description

A seasoned Real Estate professional is sought to lead direct transactions and asset management in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of sourcing and closing Australian Real Estate deals, with experience in structuring transactions for non-discretionary and discretionary investment accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team management responsibility for direct Real Estate transactions and asset management in Australia.
  • Leading on the full transaction life-cycle that includes sourcing acquisitions, underwriting, evaluating, negotiating, coordinating due diligence, and responsible for closing.
  • Executing capital market activity related to financing assets in accordance with terms required by portfolio managers.
  • Executing property dispositions in line with guidance from portfolio managers.
  • Driving strategy and execution of Australian investment opportunities from a market perspective, supporting team members in conducting financial underwriting, commercial appraisal, structuring investments, transaction negotiations, and presenting to internal clients and investment committees.
  • Overseeing investments during the asset holding period by sitting as a director of the investment vehicles.
  • This role may require representing the division on the legal entity board and APAC Real Estate Investment Committee.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in the Real Estate sector, preferably from institutional Asset Management, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Real Estate development.
  • Demonstrable track record of sourcing and closing Australian Real Estate transactions across Commercial (logistics, office, industrial, retail) and/or Residential assets.
  • Experience in structuring Real Estate transactions on behalf of foreign capital for non-discretionary and discretionary investment accounts would be beneficial.
  • Sound experience across both direct Real Estate transactions/acquisitions and asset management.
  • Established relationships with investors which can be leveraged to drive new business in direct Real Estate mandates for Australia.
  • The successful candidate should ideally provide notable experience in the residential sector in Australia or abroad (BTR, BTS, or PBSA).
