About the Role

The New Zealand Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hospitality Specialist to join our team as a Naval Officer. As a Hospitality Specialist, you will provide exceptional service to Navy officers, guests, and dignitaries in a variety of settings, including formal events, diplomatic functions, and daily operations.

Career Progression and Training

As a Hospitality Specialist, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through extensive training and professional development. You will learn about the Navy's hospitality standards, service protocols, and customer service principles. You will also have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people, including Navy officers, chefs, and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to Navy officers, guests, and dignitaries in a variety of settings
  • Prepare and present food and beverages in accordance with Navy hospitality standards
  • Manage and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Officers' Mess and other hospitality areas
  • Develop and implement customer service initiatives to improve the overall dining experience
  • Work collaboratively with other support staff to ensure seamless service delivery

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a hospitality role
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid New Zealand driver's license
