**Product Innovation Manager

Job Overview

This role involves developing innovative, quality food and drink products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate product development plans in line with the company's strategy.
  • Meet financial targets determined in new product briefs.
  • Develop and improve product ranges to ensure effective commercial delivery.
  • Contribute to overall success of the brand's food and drink targets.
Customer Responsibilities:
  • Work with customer insights teams to understand wider trends in food and lifestyle.
  • Travel locally and internationally to identify new trends and integrate findings into food strategy.
  • Keep informed of retailing and industry current affairs to identify potential opportunities.
  • Implement product development plans in conjunction with the marketing team.
People Responsibilities:
  • Manage suppliers to ensure they have the skills and are fully trained to deliver high-quality products.
  • Ensure suppliers are working within due diligence and development frameworks to meet quality standards.
  • Drive product brand standards with squads and supplier base.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external business partners.
Brand Responsibilities:
  • Act as a brand ambassador to highlight quality and innovation.
  • Development of timely, accurate, and innovative product ranges.
  • Role model gated development process to launch right first-time end-to-end product delivery.
  • Set and continuously improve quality standards of food products.
Requirements
  • Trade qualification or Bachelor's Degree in Food or Commercial Cookery.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior team members.

You will be successful if you have a sharp eye for emerging trends, strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and ability to work with suppliers.

The ideal candidate has culinary training and experience in product development, packaging, and ingredients. You're skilled at navigating stage-gate processes and collaborating with supplier partners.
