Job Title: Data Governance Technical Lead

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our data governance initiatives and drive the advancement of our data-driven strategy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining data standards, stewardship models, and governance structures that align with institutional goals and compliance requirements.

This role leads efforts to improve data quality and consistency across systems such as student information systems (SIS), HR and Identity platforms. The Technical Lead will implement processes for data cataloguing, lineage tracking, metadata management, and automation-driven data quality improvement using tools like Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).

The position ensures that data privacy and security policies are aligned with regulatory standards. The Technical Lead will champion a culture of data stewardship by designing and delivering training programs that promote governance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define data governance frameworks, metadata management, and master data management (MDM) strategies.
  • Implement data profiling, lineage tracking, cataloguing, and business glossary creation using Informatica IICS.
  • Develop data privacy and security policies aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Design and deliver training programs promoting governance best practices.
  • Lead cross-functional working groups and facilitate consensus among stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to manage identity-related data and promote best practices in data stewardship.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles.
  • 5+ years of experience leading data governance or integration initiatives in a complex enterprise or university setting.
  • Hands-on experience implementing governance tools (preferably Informatica) in a cloud or hybrid environment.
  • Experience establishing and tracking Data Quality Metrics (DQMs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and data health dashboards.
  • Ability to bridge business and technical perspectives—working effectively with both IT teams and business stakeholders.
