Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Legal Adviser to join our team in promoting fair, safe and respectful workplaces in the arts and culture sector. As a key member of our organization, you will develop legally accurate, plain language information and educational resources to support our mandate.

About the Role
  • You will create plain language trauma-informed website content, web-based resources, templates, policies, guidance and training materials, and education resources on workplace relations topics for the sector.
  • You will build and maintain a legal plain language toolkit for us, including interactive web-based tools and resources.
  • You will research, review and adapt plain language content, ensuring it is up to date, including when legislation changes.
  • You will provide specialist advice on issues of working conditions, fair pay, work health and safety and workplace respect, making recommendations that align with and support our broader strategic priorities.
Requirements
  • You must have tertiary qualifications in law, such as anti-discrimination law, commercial law, work health and safety, or workplace relations/labour law.
  • You must have relevant experience working in a legal or policy setting, such as work health and safety, commercial law, anti-discrimination or human rights, industrial relations, or government.
  • You must have excellent writing skills, with demonstrated experience creating high quality plain language information resources that are inclusive and accessible for a broad range of audiences.
  • You must have strong legal research skills, with demonstrated ability to synthesise complex concepts and apply them to a diverse range of work.
  • You must have strong project management skills, including preparing project plans, reporting against key milestones and evaluation processes.
  • You must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
