Exciting opportunities exist for senior legal professionals to join a dynamic team within the Department of Customer Service Legal Division as a Senior Legal Advisor. The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of lawyers providing independent, accurate, and timely legal services to support agency strategic, operational, and legislative priorities.

About the Role:

The role involves managing a team of advisory lawyers, providing guidance on statutory interpretation, legislative reform, administrative law, and legal frameworks. You will collaborate with stakeholders across legislative projects to ensure legal compliance, governance, and strategic objectives are met.

You will deliver legal services in a complex environment, providing practical, risk-based legal advice on diverse issues.

  • Provide operational management of a team of advisory lawyers.
  • Offer guidance on statutory interpretation, legislative reform, administrative law, and legal frameworks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across legislative projects.
About You:

To succeed in this role, you should be a motivated and effective communicator with great initiative, capable of working with diverse clients and managing competing deadlines. You should also be skilled at fostering high-performing teams.

  • You will hold a Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and have relevant post-qualification experience.
  • You are admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW and hold a current NSW Practising Certificate.
  • You possess strong analytical, negotiation, advocacy, and stakeholder management skills.
