About the Role

We are seeking a wildlife animal welfare expert to join our team at Monash University as a member of the Animal Ethics Committee (AEC).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and assess research projects involving animals, ensuring their scientific merit and humane treatment.
  • Collaborate with other committee members to ensure robust review and effective operation of the AEC.
  • Attend in-person meetings and participate in discussions to make informed decisions.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A demonstrated commitment to animal welfare, preferably in relation to wildlife and native species.
  • A good knowledge of general animal welfare context and societal acceptance of animal treatment.
  • The ability to read, interpret, and comment on meeting materials using an online system.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as computer skills.
