Job Title: Head of Insurance Risk

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of insurance risk specialists who work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the stability and efficiency of Australia's financial system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of insurance risk specialists to deliver APRA's insurance risk needs, including on-site insurance risk reviews of regulated entities
  • Set strategic direction and business plan of the Insurance Risk team, consistent with the APRA Corporate Plan
  • Monitor, assess the insurance risk environment across the Australian financial system for relevant prudential vulnerabilities and, where appropriate, warrant an APRA balanced but proactive response
  • Collaborate with other Cross-Industry Risk Division specialists to provide a cohesive prudential risk view across all risk classes for Australia's financial system
About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Deep knowledge, understanding and experience in the field of insurance risk
  • Demonstrable expertise across people, project, and resource management
  • Solid strategic leadership capabilities, relationship building, negotiation and influencing capability at senior level
  • Ability to scan a breadth of information sources and apply experience and judgement to identify, raise emerging trends, and identify usage within organisational context

To succeed in this role, you need to be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance.
