Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Community Outreach Coordinator to play a key role in our census engagement strategy. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach plans to maximise participation in the census.

Your primary objective will be to connect with community members, stakeholders, and service providers to promote the importance of the census and encourage participation. You will work closely with our operational teams to achieve outcomes through targeted engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement outreach plans to engage with community members, stakeholders, and service providers
  • Provide support and assistance to operational teams undertaking activities in your area
  • Maintain a record of engagement activities via our stakeholder management system
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver census engagement activities for your assigned region

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

Demonstrated experience or knowledge in working with or advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Ability to connect and engage with a range of service providers, communicate effectively, and develop strong working relationships

Capability to work independently, prioritise tasks with limited guidance, and make decisions independently

Sound local area knowledge and the ability to read and navigate maps
