Remote Census Engagement Manager Position

This role is an excellent opportunity to work with the community, establish networks, and maintain those relationships.

  • As a Remote Census Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering census engagement activities for assigned regions.
  • You will also maintain records of engagement activities via our stakeholder management system, develop and review engagement plans for areas of responsibility, and promote participation in the census through community visits, promotional activities, and presentations.
  • Additionally, you will connect with the community, work collaboratively with other census staff, and gather support for the census from local government and community organizations.
  • Other responsibilities include providing in-field assistance when required, maintaining a safe working environment, completing administration forms, and storing census materials securely.

Key qualifications for this position include:

  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, develop strong working relationships, and present information to small and large groups or communities.
  • Sound local area knowledge, ability to read and navigate maps, and capability to work independently and prioritize tasks with limited guidance.

This position requires applicants to be available for training in November and December 2025 and commit to the full length of the contract period. Applications are open until September 2025.
