We are seeking a skilled Remote Community Engagement Specialist to play a key role in maximising participation in the Census. As a member of our team, you will connect us with stakeholders and members of the community in regional and remote areas.
About the RoleThe Remote Community Engagement Specialist will assist Census operational teams in achieving outcomes through targeted engagement activities. You will plan, coordinate and deliver Census engagement activities for your assigned region, including towns and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate and deliver Census engagement activities for your assigned region
- Maintain a record of your engagement activities via our Stakeholder Management System
- Develop, update and review engagement plans for your area of responsibility
- Promote participation in the Census through community visits, promotional activities and presentations
- Connect with the community, establish networks and maintain those relationships
- Work collaboratively with other Census staff in your area, providing important cultural considerations and/or area-level intelligence
To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstrated experience or knowledge in working with or advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You will also need to be able to connect and engage with a range of service providers, communicate effectively, and develop strong working relationships.
BenefitsThis is a casual position available in remote NSW, SA, NT, WA & QLD, offering $61.50 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading), plus superannuation.
