About the Role

Barnardos Australia is seeking a skilled Case Manager to join our Family Connect and Support Program team in Auburn. As a Case Manager, you will play a critical role in providing early intervention and family support services to vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of families' needs and risks, utilizing a provided assessment framework.
  • Provide information, referral, and advocacy to support clients in accessing appropriate services.
  • Deliver service delivery as per program service specifications and Barnardos policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Coordinate case management for clients receiving interim casework from the FCS and support them in accessing other suitable services.
  • Follow up with clients accepted by other services to confirm engagement with local resources and services.
  • Provide practical assistance, including financial literacy support, to alleviate poverty and disadvantage.
  • Monitor child protection issues, consult with supervisors, and act in accordance with the NSW Child and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and Barnardos' Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy.
  • Consult and seek guidance from Team Leaders for clients with escalating risks and needs.
  • Establish and maintain network relationships with key agencies, providers, and referral services.
  • Work respectfully with clients and provide culturally appropriate support.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and young people in a child protection context, including comprehensive assessment.
  • Experience and skills in information provision, intake, assessment, and referral of working with families in need of support services.
  • Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities, such as drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, mental health issues, and the impact of trauma.
  • Flexibility in working hours and ability to meet families at convenient times.
  • Full unrestricted NSW driver's license.

Salary and Benefits

Base salary: $73,804 to $97,388 per annum, plus leave loading and superannuation. Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax-free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

Requirements for Employment

To be considered for roles with Barnardos, you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card, and CYPS Check.

Vaccination for COVID-19 is a condition of employment and engagement with Barnardos.
