
Chief Risk Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Risk Director to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in leading and implementing risk and compliance functions, as well as strong influencing and negotiation skills.
About the Role- Lead a team of five and help define how we think about, plan for, and respond to risk.
- Work with senior leadership and the Board to drive real change and elevate risk maturity across the business.
- Develop and lead strategic initiatives that align with legislation and support decision-making from the front line to the Boardroom.
- Insurance Strategy: Work with brokers on renewals, placements, and claims to ensure the organisation is properly covered across all its services.
- Governance and Compliance: Help strengthen frameworks already in place and make sure they align with legislation and support decision-making.
- Policy Oversight: Keep policies up to date, consistent, and practical for people on the ground to follow.
- Incident Response: Develop a clear and fit-for-purpose approach to incident response, making sure the right people know what to do when something goes wrong.
- Tertiary qualifications with risk management, legal or commercial background.
- Proven experience leading and implementing a risk and compliance function.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with high levels of commerciality and pragmatism.
- Ability to develop and lead a team while mentoring and driving continuous improvement.
