Job Title

A critical role exists for a skilled and experienced media and engagement professional to join our team.

">About the Role

This is a key position in our department, responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications and engagement activities that align with our objectives and functions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in media and public relations, with a strong understanding of how to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that promote awareness and understanding of our role and responsibilities.
  • Manage public and media relations on behalf of the Inspector, including the preparation of public statements, media responses, speeches, briefings, and issues management protocols.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement digital communications and social media strategies across a range of online platforms aligned with our strategic priorities and communication strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local governments, peak sector bodies, community groups, the public, the media, and other regulatory or integrity agencies.
  • Work closely with senior departmental officers and Inspectorate officers to ensure communications align with the Inspector's regulatory objectives, and that complex or sensitive issues are managed with consistency and integrity.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Current Western Australian C or C-A class drivers' licence or equivalent.
