Job Title: Senior Media Coordinator

We are seeking a talented professional to coordinate and lead all media activities. The role involves supporting and proactively promoting key priorities, projects, and policy initiatives to a wide audience.

This position provides high-level advice on crisis management to executives across the health service and the Minister's office. It is responsible for responding to enquiries from media organisations reporting on the public health system, and supporting various sites within the health service to communicate their services to the people of Western Australia.

The health service is the largest in Australia, providing health services to approximately half a million people across a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services, and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia.

The core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the preparedness of Public Information resources for emergency response.

  • Selecting suitable media channels for message dissemination;
  • Managing relationships with media representatives;
  • Developing communications plans;
  • Writing press releases;
  • Preparing presentations and speeches;

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in media relations and communications;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Knowledge of social media platforms.
