About the Role


Liaising with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager, you will provide leadership, guidance, coaching and mentoring to Nurses and Personal Carers.


Key Responsibilities include:



  • Working positively and collaboratively with other staff and qualified practitioners to provide proactive, holistic and person centred service and support.
  • Listening to residents about their needs, goals and preferences and work collaboratively, and in partnership, with them to develop a safe and effective care and service plan.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of contemporary best practice clinical care and maintaining records of professional development to meet AHPRA requirements.
  • Coordinating the on boarding process for all new care and nursing employees to ensure an appropriate orientation into SCC's Better for Life model, policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring SCC's processes to ensure nursing and care staff read and comply with all policies, procedures and work instructions relevant to them.
  • Meeting and exceeding all relevant standards, regulations and laws, and contributing to our continuous improvement plans.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:



  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse.
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Current CPR Certificate.
  • Previous experience working as an Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment.
  • Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand.
  • Exceptional time management skills to manage own workload to meet deadlines and to support other staff.
  • Outstanding problem solving skills to balance supporting resident's desire for independence and self determination to make their own choices against potential risks and duty of care.
  • High level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia.
  • Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved.
  • Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge.
