Aviation Protection Officer

The Role

As an Aviation Protection Officer, you'll be part of our Terminal Operations team, responsible for high-quality security functions across Launceston Airport. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring consistent and standard security practices for passengers and their possessions
  • Controlling access to security-sensitive areas and conducting physical searches
  • Coordinating the flow of passengers through security screening
  • Demonstrating effective communication and sound decision-making skills
  • Providing consistent, high-quality customer service
  • Working as part of a high-performing team

Minimum Criteria

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Ability to obtain an ASIC security clearance
  • Pass drug and alcohol screening and medical assessments
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection
  • True 24/7 availability, including shiftwork and weekends on a rotating roster
  • Own reliable transport
  • Highly developed security awareness and focus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Computer literacy skills (Windows systems, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Extensive experience in high-quality customer service
  • Full working rights
