Job Description:

The role of Collections Officer is to effectively manage the collections activity on a portfolio of residential and mortgage clients. This involves actively liaising with internal and external parties to ensure a smooth process and high standard of customer experience.

This position is integral to the overall success of the organization, requiring effective conversations with clients who may be in financial distress. Key responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on client arrears, managing the collections activity, coordinating the resolution of payment defaults and late payments, handling client hardship requests, and assisting in possible legal action against delinquent clients.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of related experience within customer service, collections or debt recovery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Competent knowledge of financial hardship laws and processes to best service clients experiencing financial distress.
  • Agile and collaborative approach to working with the team and stakeholders.
  • Proven continuous improvement mindset: ability to challenge the status quo and drive optimal outcomes.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility and account for actions and quality of work.
