About the Role

The Business Unit Manager will be responsible for leading a team of account managers in the industrial chemical portfolio, supporting staff and driving business success.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic growth initiatives in key sectors, leveraging global strength and local representation
  • Manage a high-performing team, fostering long-term relationships and driving business success
  • Develop and implement business plans, ensuring alignment with company objectives and budgets
  • Maintain strategic relationships with principals, suppliers, and key customers
  • Seek and develop new business opportunities while managing efficient stockholding
  • Conduct regular reviews, providing insightful reporting and forecasting
  • Use business analysis tools and ensure compliance with company policies and values
  • Follow the responsible care program to improve safety, health, and environmental management continuously

Requirements
  • Extensive experience with the paints or coatings industry
  • Proven ability to manage teams, drive sales, and adapt to new requirements
  • Exceptional organisational & interpersonal skills, with adaptability for interactions at all business levels

You will be highly regarded if you also have:

  • Experience in new business development or a "hunter" mentality
  • Demonstrable success in coating, adhesive, sealant, or elastomer sales
  • Completed technical studies at an undergraduate level or above
