Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine at the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist or Senior Medical Officer (Physician - General Medicine) to join our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients of the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.

This includes:

  • Providing clinical services to patients in the hospital and community settings
  • Participating in research and education activities to improve patient outcomes and advance medical knowledge
  • Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff to develop their skills and expertise

Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Immunity to Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) including Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chicken pox), and Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Assessment for risk of Tuberculosis (TB)
