
Senior Event Manager Position

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Coordinator to lead the overall event management and end-to-end delivery of events. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing events from conception to completion, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of all event milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans with a 12–24 month critical time path to ensure timely delivery of all event milestones.
- Sales and Exhibition Strategies: Develop and implement sales and exhibition strategies with Sales Manager, Head of Events and General Manager to drive profitability by reducing costs and increasing turnover, productivity, and efficiency.
- Financial Management: Manage event budgets including financial reporting and accurate ongoing forecasting leading into events, working closely with sales, operations and marketing leads to coordinate projections.
- Logistics and Operations: Work with operations and sales team to finalise floor plans for event and exhibition layout and design, ensuring safe, timely, and effective delivery with a focus on risk mitigation and maximising stakeholder experiences.
- Customer Service: Maximise the exhibitor experience by fostering a high level of customer service and effective use of systems and processes.
- Business Development: Work with the Sales Manager and General Manager to scope out exhibitors for potential sponsor and partner opportunities.
- Industry Network: Develop and maintain relevant industry, agent, and media networks.
- Compliance: Ensure all exhibitor related insurance and WHS requirements are adhered to.
- On-Site Coordination: Provide high-level customer service and coordination, and be actively present onsite during event periods, including bump in and bump out.
Requirements:
- Experience: Extensive experience (minimum 3-5 years) across major events and sales processes.
- Proven Track Record: Proven track record and experience in a similar role.
- Organisational Skills: Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated communication skills including well-developed writing skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to avoid administrative errors and ensure accurate reporting.
- Critical Thinking: High level of analytical and conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and CRM's.
- Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification in Event Management (or equivalent) is desirable.
