Lead Residential Design Team

This leading residential design studio is embarking on strategic growth and seeking an experienced leader to take over the leadership of the team.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in luxury residential and multi-residential project management, with a focus on setting and guiding design direction, upholding and evolving the studio's ethos, and overseeing conceptual, schematic, and design development phases.

The successful candidate will lead and mentor a team of designers, interface with senior leadership, and maintain cohesive communication across teams and with external consultants.

In addition to technical skills and qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, presentation, and mentorship skills, as well as deep knowledge of software tools and building codes.

Responsibilities:
  • Set and guide the design direction of major luxury residential and multi-residential projects.
  • Uphold and evolve the ethos—balancing innovation, locality, durability, and elegance.
  • Oversee conceptual, schematic, and design development phases.
  • Ensure exceptional design standards across all studio output.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture; registered architect status.
  • QLD Board of Architect registration ideal.
  • 10+ years in design leadership, preferably in high-end residential architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in concept design and Subtropical Modernism or similar.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and mentorship skills.
  • Deep knowledge of software tools (e.g. Revit, SketchUp) and building codes.
