Key Leadership Position: Design Principal

The successful candidate will lead our Residential Design studio in Brisbane, overseeing a National and International portfolio. This strategic leadership role has been created to drive growth and take the studio to the next level.

Responsibilities:
  • Design Visionary: Establish and guide the design direction of major luxury residential and multi-residential projects, upholding and evolving the studio's ethos.
  • Studio Leader: Oversee conceptual, schematic, and design development phases, ensuring exceptional design standards across all studio output.
  • Team Mentor: Lead and mentor design teams, from experienced architects to graduates, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Client Liaison: Present design concepts to clients and articulate design rationale aligned with their vision and site context.
  • Project Delivery: Enforce high-quality design through detail orientation and material selections, integrating sustainability and long-term resilience into every design.
  • Technical Expertise: Supervise deliverables like drawings and documents, including adherence to codes and regulations, and ensure innovation in construction methods and material handling where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture; registered architect status, preferably QLD Board of Architect registration.
  • Minimum 10 years in design leadership, preferably in high-end residential architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in concept design and Subtropical Modernism or similar.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and mentorship skills, with deep knowledge of software tools (e.g. Revit, SketchUp) and building codes.

Interviews will take place in Brisbane.
