We are seeking a leader to manage maintenance planning and reliability in an open-cut mining operation. The mine complex consists of two operations that produce coal for export markets.

This critical leadership role ensures the safe and efficient ongoing operation of equipment through effective maintenance planning, reliability, and engineering practices.

About the Role
  • Manage short, medium, and long-term maintenance planning to optimise equipment availability and reliability.
  • Ensure work management processes meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate shutdown planning to meet production, cost, and safety objectives.
  • Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies for mobile and fixed assets.
  • Oversee defect elimination, root cause analysis, and condition monitoring programs.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment failures.
  • Support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements relating to maintenance and asset integrity.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment.
  • Identify and manage risks to minimise impact on operations.
About You
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering, or equivalent trade background with significant maintenance experience.
  • A wealth of experience in open-cut mining and plant environments.
  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience in maintenance, planning, or reliability roles, ideally within the mining sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mining legislation, asset management frameworks, and maintenance strategies.
  • Proficiency in SAP and reliability analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

This position offers a 9-day fortnight roster and the option to reside in Moranbah or commute from Brisbane.
