Superintendent Maintenance Planning

Job SummaryWe are currently seeking aSuperintendent Planning and Reliability at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV).
Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay thatproduce premium low-volatility pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, this critical leadership role is responsible for maintenance planning, reliability and engineering to ensure the safe and efficient ongoing operation of the mine's equipment.Job DescriptionDuties will include:Oversee short, medium and long-term maintenance planning to optimise equipment availability and reliability.Ensure work management processes (notification, planning, scheduling, execution, and close-out) are executed in line with company standards and the Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulation.Coordinate shutdown planning to meet production, cost and safety objectives.Lead the development and implementation of reliability improvement strategies for mobile and fixed assets.Oversee defect elimination, root cause analysis (RCA), and condition monitoring programs.Drive initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment failures.Support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements relating to maintenance and asset integrity.Communicate with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment.Identify and manage risks to minimise impact on operations.Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with site values and legislative requirements.About YouAbout You:Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering, or equivalent trade background with significant maintenance planning/reliability leadership experience.Wealth of experience in open cut mining and plant environmentsMinimum 8–10 years' experience in maintenance, planning or reliability roles, ideally within the mining or heavy industry sector.Strong knowledge of Queensland mining legislation, asset management frameworks, and maintenance strategies.Proficiency in SAP and reliability analysis tools.Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skillsSafety-focused with a practical, hands-on approachConfident managing teams, stakeholders, and contractor relationships in high-pressure environmentsThe lifestyle:This position is offered on 9-day fortnight roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane.Peabody Energy also offers the following:Domestic relocation assistance for eligible applicants.Employee assistance program available for yourself and immediate familyNovated vehicle leasing availableHealth and lifestyle benefits via (WHEREFIT) corporate programEmployee recognition programSite allowancesLive local benefitsModern camp with premium facilities and mealsOnsite gym, functional room & group fitness classesOngoing learning & career development supportAbout Peabody:Peabody is a leading coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy & steel.
