Residential care workers are responsible for providing support and services to young people in residential care settings.

About the Role:
  • The position involves working across a 24-hour roster, including day, evening, weekend sleepover, and overnight stand-up shifts.

The role requires developing personal skills and managing administrative and household duties of the residents. Participants will also engage with daily operations, responding to the emotional and functional needs of the young individuals.

An essential qualification for this role is having experience supporting young people as a youth worker. Knowledge of trauma and its impact on development and behavior is also required. A genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people and empathy for those in our care are necessary qualities.

Strong emotional self-regulation skills, including setting and maintaining boundaries for safety and stability, are essential.

Key Selection Criteria: A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or a similar qualification in Youth Work is required.
