Young Person Advocate

As a Youth Peer Support Worker, you will be instrumental in supporting young people who are accessing our services and bringing the voice of young people within our multidisciplinary team.
A regular day in this role will see you:
- Providing support to young people who are accessing our services
- Working with other disciplines to ensure the young person's voice is considered in planning and work
- Supporting and working alongside other lived/living experience staff
- Contributing to service improvement activities
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Lived/living experience of mental health challenges and/or eating disorders as a young person and experience of utilising mental health services in their own recovery
- Prior experience working as a peer support worker (essential for Level 3 positions)
- Recognition and understanding of your own personal recovery process and the ability to use this to appropriately share your story with purpose to support others
- Confidence and skill to communicate and advocate for yourself and young people in a clinical environment
- Australian working rights
- Current Victorian Driver License
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one, and be willing to undergo a Background Check
You will receive:
- Relevant training (e.g. Youth Peer Support, Group Facilitation, Dialogical Practice)
