We bring together essential day-to-day services in one department to make it easy and seamless for individuals and businesses.
Our goal is to connect and digitize our systems and platforms across state and local government, as well as streamline corporate and procurement services.
The Office of the General Counsel provides technically excellent legal advice and strategic solutions to navigate legal and policy challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex and sensitive litigation matters.
- Provide authoritative and timely advice on public law issues.
- Represent stakeholders in various legal proceedings.
- Advise on legislation administered by the government.
Accountabilities Include:
- Work independently on highly complex cases and sensitive public law disputes.
- Develop high-level briefs, advice, and other written documents on complex issues.
- Provide specialist legal expertise and advice to policy/practice development.
To Be Considered For The Role:
- Demonstrate public law experience, analyzing issues and providing clear and comprehensive legal advice in public law matters.
- Have litigation experience, managing complex litigation, developing strategies for managing complex legal proceedings.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Be admitted to practice as an Australian lawyer and eligible to hold a practising certificate.
- Meet specific responsibilities outlined in the attached position description.
- Hold relevant rights to work in Australia.
