Key Role: Public Law Specialist
The Department of Premier and Cabinet seeks a skilled and experienced Public Law Specialist to join the Office of the General Counsel.
As a key member of the team, you will provide sensitive legal advice to the Premier and other Ministers on civil and criminal law issues.
You will have strong technical, legal, and analytical skills, with experience in providing technically excellent and risk-based legal advice, particularly in relation to public law matters.
Key qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification conferred by a university in a common law jurisdiction
- Admitted to practice as an Australian lawyer and eligible to hold a Victoria practising certificate
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, conceptual and problem-solving skills, and highly developed interpersonal skills.
They will also be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and able to provide legal and strategic advice within time-sensitive deadlines.
