Key Role in Transportation Engineering

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering contract plans, specifications, and estimates for construction projects in transportation engineering. This role requires experience with the entire project design delivery process, including hands-on design/engineering supervision.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design of multi-discipline transportation engineering projects, evaluating alternatives, conducting engineering studies and design calculations, and performing preliminary and detailed design.
  • Providing technical expertise to ensure compliance with design intent, project scope, and state and federal design criteria and standards.
  • Preparing contract plans and developing technical specifications and cost estimates.
  • Contributing to project execution and delivery, including development of project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Overseeing day-to-day activities and coordination of engineers, designers, and technicians assigned to a specific project.
  • Ensuring quality control on engineering work products, including design calculations, models, drawings, reports, specifications, and estimates.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university or college.
  • At least 10 years of post-licensure engineering experience in transportation design.
  • Proficiency in Microstation and OpenRoads Designer, with ability to train and supervise technical work of engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
