Civil Engineer Role Overview

This position entails advanced civil engineering drafting and design tasks, with the autonomy to apply engineering principles and make informed decisions.

  • Develop technically accurate and high-quality deliverables using AutoDesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other related software programs.
  • Aid in development of stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and construction plans under the direction of a Professional Engineer. Analyze design alternatives to develop cost-effective solutions to project challenges.
  • Coordinate preparation of multi-discipline drawing sets as required for assigned projects, including coordination with technical, administrative, and other design staff.
  • Promote quality assurance and quality control processes to improve deliverable quality and reduce design errors and omissions.
  • Research, review, interpret, and understand written design standards, regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and apply them to design projects.
  • Assist with design calculations, calculate quantities, review technical specifications, and prepare estimates.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum four years' experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D required. Advanced skills preferred.
  • Strong independent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
