Job Description

The ideal candidate will be an integral part of a Sydney based operations team whose ultimate goal is to ensure timely and effective delivery of domestic and international payments. The scope of this role will involve supporting the operations manager in building, overseeing and delivering a high-performing team that consistently demonstrates best-in-class payment processing service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the operations manager and global operations to build a scalable payments and deals processing operation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of payments to clients and beneficiaries while maintaining data confidentiality.
  • Validate payment data to ensure all relevant information has been obtained and local routing requirements are met.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on international and domestic payments, and related schemes and systems.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders; work closely with internal units to improve service delivery and workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in the settlement process of spot and forward orders adhering to specific client details in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Handle escalations in a professional manner.
  • Drive team performance to deliver within payment cutoffs and expected Service Level Agreements.
  • Deliver results through effective team management, structure, and routine.
  • Train and support operations associates on a continuous basis and drive a culture of continuous performance improvement.
  • Accountability in managing a team of employees providing effective performance management practices.
  • Support management in audit requests, refining procedures, and defining service level agreements.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with banking partners.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making and remove obstacles to optimize operations.
  • Lead and encourage the identification, escalation, and resolution of potential risks.
  • Inspect and challenge risk controls, governance, and culture to ensure timely identification, escalation, debate, and remediation of risk across processes supported.
  • Comply with all applicable policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.
  • Ad-hoc projects as requested.
