Acropolis Kebabs is a renowned eatery in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. We are seeking an experienced and passionate chef to join our dynamic team. Our mission is to serve authentic and delectable kebabs and Mediterranean cuisine to our community.

About the Role
  • This full-time position offers a competitive salary of AU$ 65,000 - 80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To prepare and cook food that meets our high standards, ensuring consistency and excellence throughout each dish.
  2. To plan and develop menus featuring a variety of kebabs and Mediterranean dishes, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering necessary supplies.
  3. To monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation, implementing solutions to maintain exceptional standards.
  4. To collaborate with Managers and kitchen staff to discuss food preparation issues and implement effective solutions.
  5. To train other staff on kebab-specific cooking procedures, promoting a positive and efficient team environment.
  6. To explain and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  7. To select and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient team culture.
  8. To manage the freezing and preservation of foods to maintain freshness and reduce waste.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record as a chef with experience in kebab or Mediterranean cuisine.
  • A strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
  • The ability to plan menus and estimate food and labour costs effectively.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a consistent output.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including time management and general organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff of different skill levels.
