Acropolis Kebabs, a renowned kebab shop in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, is seeking an accomplished chef to join our dynamic team.

About the Role:

  • As a skilled chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food that meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • You will plan and develop menus featuring a variety of kebabs and Mediterranean dishes, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering necessary supplies.
  • Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Collaborate with Managers and kitchen staff to discuss food preparation issues and implement solutions.
  • Train other staff on kebab-specific cooking procedures.
  • Explain and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Select and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient team.
  • May manage the freezing and preservation of foods to maintain freshness and reduce waste.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a chef with experience in kebab or Mediterranean cuisine.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
  • Ability to plan menus and estimate food and labour costs effectively.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a consistent output.
  • Strong leadership and team management, time management, and general organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff of different skill levels.
