Job Overview

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution and monitoring of the supply strategic plan.

This includes managing volumes, specifications, quality, assured supply, regional risk management, and regional supply to suit regional orders, stock management, and minimization of freight costs.

You will work closely with our strategic supply partners to manage relationships, plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of products needed to meet category DIFOT targets.

Additionally, you will work directly with the sales team to determine the most cost-effective distribution solution to customers, monitor and communicate stock levels internally to ensure rotation and product quality.

A key aspect of this role is researching and providing recommendations in relation to new/potential product lines or product line extensions, supporting the New Product Development team to identify suitable products and ensure successful launches.

Responsibilities also include managing seed/breeding companies and nurseries to ensure appropriate technical support is provided to selected growers and approved nurseries.

Furthermore, you will continually improve quality on farm and GIFOTQ (Grown in Full on Time with Quality).

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role in fresh produce is essential.
  • Solid experience dealing and maintaining relationships with 3rd party growers.
  • Business planning skills and execution capabilities to deliver customer expectations and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • A self-starter who is a team player; pro-active, persuasive, and flexible attitude.
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or related discipline; preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to travel as required.
