The successful applicant will have experience in Account Management with a freight forwarder and possess outstanding customer service skills, excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, time management skills, attention to detail and proficiency. Cargowise EDI experience is highly desired.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around AU$60,000 - AU$80,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the location.

About the Role

This role involves maintaining a varied portfolio of clients, developing client relationships, managing purchase orders, quotations, rate negotiations, updating rates, chasing documentation, passing documentation on for customs clearance, job registration, pre-alerts, EDO's, underbonds, monitoring cargo availability, status & check transshipments, sea/air cargo reporting, paying charges / organise EDO's, organising local & interstate road & rail movements, finalising invoices to clients and overseas agents, and liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, overseas agents, customers, suppliers and internal staff.

  • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS
  • PURCHASE ORDER MANAGEMENT
  • QUOTATIONS / RATE NEGOTIATIONS
  • UPDATING RATES
  • CHASING DOCUMENTATION AND ENSURING CORRECT PAPERWORK IS RECEIVED
  • Passing documentation on for customs clearance
  • Job registration, Pre-alerts, EDO's, Underbonds
  • MULTIPLE PROJECT COORDINATION
  • MONITORING CARGO AVAILABILITY, STATUS & CHECK TRANSSHIPMENTS
  • SEA/AIR CARGO REPORTING
  • PAYING CHARGES / ORGANISE EDO'S
  • LOCAL & INTERSTATE ROAD & RAIL MOVEMENTS
  • FINALISING INVOICES TO CLIENTS AND OVERSEAS AGENTS
  • LIAISING WITH SHIPPING LINES, FREIGHT FORWARDERS, OVERSEAS AGENTS, CUSTOMERS, SUPPLIERS AND INTERNAL STAFF
