Job Title Litter Prevention Officer

The role of the Litter Prevention Officer is to implement and manage litter prevention initiatives in alignment with Council's Litter Prevention Plan, Waste & Resource Recovery Strategy 2032, and Operational Plan. The focus will be on education, enforcement, and stakeholder engagement to drive behaviour change and reduce littering in the Hawkesbury region.


About You / Essential Criteria
  • You have proven experience in implementing and managing effective solutions for litter prevention and waste management challenges.
  • Your experience extends to engaging and partnering with community groups to reach tangible and beneficial outcomes.
  • You demonstrate high attention to detail and analytical skills; you ensure compliance with legislation and produce accurate reporting.
  • You have experience in project management, including planning, implementation, and performance monitoring.
  • You possess strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively with government agencies, business and community groups.
  • You can collect, analyse and report data to support program evaluation and decision-making.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to manage data, reporting and presentations.
  • You have a demonstrated understanding of local government processes, services and systems.
  • You hold tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's or Master's) in Business, Environmental Science, Waste Management, Behaviour Change, Local Government, Education or a related field or demonstrated experience within these areas.
  • You have the right to live and work in Australia.
  • You hold a Class C Drivers Licence.
  • You hold a Working With Children Check (WWCC).
