We welcome and encourage applications from all ages and genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans and people with disabilities.The RoleReporting to the Coordinator Waste Projects and Contracts, based in Windsor NSW, the primary purpose of this role is to implement and manage litter prevention initiatives in alignment with Council's Litter Prevention Plan, Waste & Resource Recovery Strategy 2032, and Operational Plan, with a focus on education, enforcement, and stakeholder engagement to drive behaviour change and reduce littering in the Hawkesbury region.About You / Essential CriteriaYou will have proven experience in implementing and managing effective solutions for litter prevention and waste management challenges.
Your experience will extend to engaging and partnering with community groups to reach tangible and beneficial outcomes.
You will demonstrate high attention to detail and analytical skills; you will have experience ensuring compliance with legislation and have the ability to produce accurate reporting.Experience in project management, including planning, implementation, and performance monitoring.Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively with government agencies, business and community groups.Ability to collect, analyse and report data to support program evaluation and decision-making.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated ability to manage data, reporting and presentations.Demonstrated understanding of local government processes, services and systems.Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's or Master's) in Business, Environmental Science, Waste Management, Behaviour Change, Local Government, Education or a related field or demonstrated experience within these areas.The right to live and work in AustraliaClass C Drivers LicenceWorking with Children Check (WWCC)Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declarationThe RewardsThere are many benefits to working at Hawkesbury Council:Great working environmentFlexible work arrangementsHealth and Wellbeing ProgramEmployee Reward and Recognition programFitness Passport OptionSocial Club - BBQs, Christmas parties, raffles and activitiesEmployee Assistance Program for employees and their familyTo ApplyFor further position details, including the selection criteria and how to apply, visit our website: close Sunday, 07 September 2025.
