This is a unique chance to work in the field of occupational health and safety, providing expert advice and contributing to the development of safety management systems.

About the Role

The Safety Management Specialist - Systems and Reporting will support a large team in providing advice and contributing to the development and maintenance of the Safety & Health Management System and internal health and safety reporting.

The role covers:

  • Reviewing and developing procedures tools and templates in collaboration with the safety team and operations. Conducting research and analysis to support system improvements. Developing training and other supporting material to educate teams on any changes to the systems.
  • Collation, preparation and evaluation of Safety and Health data including analysis of data and provide recommendations on trends and opportunities. Identifying emerging risks and trends in incidents, hazards, near hits. Supporting the continuous improvement of monthly dashboards and reporting.
  • Coaching teams to effectively report and use the system. Leading Incident Causation Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations where required to ensure the identification of the root cause and appropriate corrective actions. Peer reviewing investigations to drive a high standard of investigation and reporting. Managing site safety inspections and audits and proactively collaborating with leaders to mitigate business risk. Identifying recommendations on the outcomes of audits and inspections, where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) is desirable.
  • An ICAM Investigation qualification or similar is desirable.
  • A current First Aid qualification is desirable.

The candidate should possess:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the development of safety management systems.
  • A solid understanding of statutory and non-statutory legislation associated with the management of workplace safety.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
