Workplace Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workplace Safety Specialist to join our team.

Job Description

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take the next step in their Work Health and Safety career, reporting directly to the Manager - HSE. You will be responsible for workplace safety, injury management, facilitating return to work and workers compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations and implement effective controls to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on Injury Management and other key performance indicators.
  • Deliver training sessions for Supervisors on Worker's Compensation and Workplace Health and Safety best practices.
  • Enter accurate data into our HSE Management System, ensuring seamless tracking and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for external support, such as rehabilitation services, to enhance employee well-being.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in Injury Management, Rehabilitation or Worker's Compensation Management.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction risks associated with health and ergonomics.
  • Knowledge of Health Promotion strategies and effective employee health program design and evaluation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and implement change.
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian HSE and Workers' Compensation Legislation and Standards.

Ideal Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Certificate IV OHS/WHS or higher qualification.
  • Certificate IV Trainer & Assessor.
  • Lead ICAM Investigator certification.
